The serenity of Eden Hall

Yesterday, the English weather was kind to us and the sun shined down all day. Me and a friend had already booked a much needed break to Eden Hall. This is the second time we have been and it truly doesn’t disappoint. Set in a beautiful rural setting in Newark, the gorgeous converted house offers an escape from the toils of day to day life. As stated on the website ‘We believe that well-being is enhanced through relaxation and enjoyment. A little pampering is good for the soul’ and I have to say I agree. One day here and you go home feeling like a different person to one who arrived.

The spa offers a lot to keep you content for the day, there is a Thermal spa suite, Salt water vitality pool, outdoor hot tubs and tranquil gardens all open for use all day. The Thermal spa suite boasts 2 saunas, a salt inhalation room, a rose steam room, a herbal steam room, a tropical, heat and cool mist walkthrough shower with many more water features to enjoy.

The pool is just the right temperature and also has some water features that make it more exciting- when the weather is nice, there is a small opening that leads into a small outdoor pool area. If this isn’t enough, you can head outside and enjoy the two hot tubs. At night they are lit up, it’s quite beautiful and relaxing in the evening. Depending on when you go, they can be quite busy, so sometimes you have to pounce the minute people get out. They’re certainly popular!

We paid £85 each this time which included at 3 course lunch. Last time we went it cost us £105 each which included a 3 course lunch and a 35 minute treatment. So keep an eye out for the deals!

There are over 40 different treatments that you can get, I opted for a 55 minute revitalising chill out full body massage. It was heaven and the masseuse was so pleasant. We spent the whole time chatting about life and travels. All the staff there are wonderful.

Lunch was lovely, being vegetarian I didn’t know if there would be many options but there were! After being seated they swiftly take your order- I went for butternut squash soup, chickpea and spinach curry and lemon posset. You also get to help yourself to a salad bar which has some great bits on. You definitely won’t leave hungry. Between 1-1.30pm there is complimentary tea and coffee in the chill out conservatory. Which is open all day for drinks and snacks which you can pay for when you leave.

After lunch it’s nice to take a stroll round the lovely garden, there are many chairs to relax in the garden as well as a little pond to stroll round. It is incredibly peaceful out there.

The day in itself was wonderful, I left feeling pampered and relaxed so Eden Hall were successful. So if you are looking to take a break from life for the day, I suggest you check out this place at
